Egypt Travel Packages: 15-Day Grand Tour — Pyramids, White Desert, Nile & Abu Simbel

Aswan Tours & Day Trips Tour Package

Overview

Quick answer: The most complete of our Egypt travel packages: 15 days covering Cairo and the Giza Pyramids, two nights camping in the White Desert, a flight to Luxor, four nights sailing to Aswan by dahabiya, and a grand finale at Abu Simbel — with an overnight beside the temples. Private guide and transfers throughout, from 2500 $ per person.

Why This Is the Grand Tour

Most Egypt travel packages show you the Nile corridor and stop there. This 15-day route adds the two experiences travelers regret missing: a night under the stars among the chalk sculptures of the White Desert, and sunrise at Abu Simbel before the day-trip crowds arrive. If you have two weeks and want all of Egypt’s registers — urban, desert, river, monumental — this is the one.

Itinerary at a Glance

This 15-day grand tour is the most complete of our Egypt travel packages: four days exploring Cairo and the Giza Pyramids, two nights camping in the White Desert, a flight to Luxor, four nights sailing to Aswan by dahabiya, and a grand finale at Abu Simbel with an overnight beside the temples. See the full day-by-day plan in the itinerary below.

Why Two Weeks Changes the Trip

Ten-day itineraries see Egypt; fifteen-day Egypt travel packages absorb it

Among Egypt travel packages of this length, very few include both a private desert camp and a true sailing cruise. The extra days buy the two experiences that cannot be rushed: the desert — you camp twice, so the White Desert gets its full sunset-to-sunrise cycle — and Abu Simbel, where sleeping beside the temples means standing before Ramses II’s colossi at first light with a handful of other travelers instead of five hundred. The pace stays humane throughout: no 4 a.m. convoys except the ones you choose, and a full sailing rhythm on the Nile leg.

Booking Notes

Like all serious Egypt travel packages, this one hinges on two scarce resources: dahabiya cabins and the Abu Simbel hotel, both small. Three months notice is ideal for winter dates, six weeks for shoulder season. The route runs comfortably in reverse (Aswan to Cairo), and every day is adjustable before you book — this is a private itinerary, not a fixed departure.

Hotels and Boats We Use

City nights are spent in well-located four-star hotels — near the museum district in Cairo, on or near the corniche in Luxor and Aswan — upgradable to five-star on request. The desert nights use full camp kit (dome tents, thick mattresses, layered blankets) set by a Bahariya Bedouin crew we have worked with for years. The Nile leg runs on a traditional dahabiya of six to ten cabins with en-suite bathrooms; for families or groups, chartering the entire boat turns the cruise into a private floating house.

Season by Season

Winter (December–February) is peak: cool desert nights, perfect temple mornings, highest demand. Spring and autumn balance warmth and calm — March and October are our favorite months for this route. Summer runs at a discount with a re-timed rhythm: sites at dawn, pools and shaded decks at noon, and the White Desert swapped to its dawn-and-dusk schedule. The itinerary works year-round because every leg — city, desert, river — has its own way of escaping the heat.

Fitness and Pace

No day on this route demands more than comfortable walking: temple sites involve one to three kilometers on mostly flat ground, the desert legs travel by 4×4 with short strolls between formations, and the dahabiya days are as active or as idle as you choose.

The two early starts — the White Desert sunrise and Abu Simbel at first light — are optional in the strict sense, but nobody who takes them regrets it. Travelers from their twenties to their eighties complete this itinerary every season; tell us about knees, heat tolerance or dietary needs before departure and the day plans quietly adjust around them.A single visa covers the whole route, the currency is the Egyptian pound with cards accepted in hotels, and tipping culture is explained in the welcome briefing on day one — small practical questions never survive the first morning.
