How Konoz Sails
A dahabiya is slow on purpose. Konoz sails when the wind allows, so the pace is slow. You moor at islands and sandbanks and reach villages that ships skip. The sightseeing tours are private. The boat is not: Konoz has 10 cabins and takes up to 20 guests.

Who This Cruise Suits
It suits couples, families and small groups who want a slow river trip with private sightseeing tours with real time at the temples. A dahabiya is smaller and simpler than a floating hotel. Large ships offer facilities such as pools and lifts that a boat of this size usually does not. If those matter most, look at our classic Nile cruise.

Practical Notes
- First visit? Distances on the river are short, but the temples mean real walking. Midday heat from May to September is strong, so visits start early.
- Best season. October to April is comfortable and busy. Expect crowds at the Valley of the Kings.
- Not included. The hot air balloon flight and the Abu Simbel excursion are not part of this programme.
- Bring. A hat, sunscreen, light layers for cool evenings and comfortable shoes.
- Timing. Sailing times depend on the wind, so the order of moorings can shift.
- Ramadan. Opening hours and restaurant service can change.
Why Book Private with El Sultan?
Konoz carries up to 20 guests, and your sightseeing on land is private. One team looks after the whole week.
- Your own Egyptologist — a private guide at Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Gabal El Silsila, Kom Ombo and Philae, with time for your questions.
- Slow sailing, quiet moorings — Konoz moors at quiet islands, and day three ends with a barbecue on a Nile sandbank.
- One clear price — from $1,150 per person, with full board, all sightseeing fees and taxes, and air-conditioned transport on land.
- One team instead of four suppliers — a boat, a guide, entrance tickets and land transfers booked separately means four payments and nobody to call. We arrange it as one booking, and if a mooring or visit time shifts, you hear it from us first.
- WhatsApp before, during and after — send us your dates and we reply within 24 hours.
Itinerary
Your Egyptologist meets you at the airport, the station or your hotel and takes you to the boat. You board Konoz in Luxor, where a welcome drink and cabin check-in come first, followed by lunch aboard. In the afternoon you visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank, with your guide explaining the courtyards, columns and reliefs. You then return to Konoz for dinner, and you spend the first night aboard in Luxor.
After breakfast you cross to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, then Queen Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon, with your Egyptologist explaining each site. A coach takes you to El Mo'alla, where you rejoin Konoz. Lunch is served aboard while the boat sails toward Esna and passes the Esna Gate. In the afternoon there is tea on deck, followed by a candlelit dinner and a night at Hegez Island.
After breakfast aboard, Konoz sails to Edfu, where you visit the Temple of Horus with your guide and hear how its reliefs and rituals are read. Lunch is served aboard while the boat continues toward Ramadi Island. In the evening you eat an Egyptian barbecue on a Nile sandbank while a band and dancers perform. You spend the night along the shore of Ramadi Island, with the quiet of the river around you.
Konoz sails to Gabal El Silsila, where you walk through the ancient sandstone quarries that supplied stone for many Egyptian temples. Breakfast is served aboard on the way to Kom Ombo, where you visit the double temple of Sobek and Horus the Elder. Lunch is served aboard while you sail to Hordiab Island, where you can swim in the Nile. You arrive in Aswan for dinner and spend the night aboard.
After breakfast, your guide takes you to Philae Temple, the island sanctuary of the goddess Isis, which stands on Agilkia Island in Aswan. Your Egyptologist explains the temple, its reliefs and the story of its move to its present site. You walk through the courts and colonnades with time for photographs, then return to the boat. Lunch and dinner are served aboard, and you spend your fifth and last night on Konoz in Aswan.
You have a final breakfast aboard, then check out and disembark in Aswan. A private transfer takes you to your airport, station or hotel, so you do not need to arrange your own transport. Please keep your luggage and travel documents ready before the transfer. The optional Abu Simbel excursion is not part of this program and is not included in the price; ask us about it before you travel if you want to add it to your stay in Aswan.
